Loot Drop Gains Playdom Ex-Program Manager

Karen Clark — the former program manager of social game company Playdom — has officially joined Loot Drop. Aside from Playdom, Clark has also worked on projects like Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2. She also co-founded the online game industry mentorship website, GameMentorOnline.

“Working at Loot Drop was an easy choice for me,” Clark said. “I have a lot of friends in the company who believe in the social space and the opportunities it presents to recapture some of the early magic of games where the gameplay was paramount.”

Loot Drop was created by industry veteran John Romero. He was later joined by LOGIN-speaker and Loot Drop COO Brenda Brathwaire. ”We’ve known Karen for years through her work in games, the IGDA, and Women in Games International,” Brathwaite said. “We wanted to bring her ability to manage creative projects, online persistent worlds, and groups here.”

Loot Drop’s first game — Cloudforest Expedition — is due for release later this summer. It will be published by RockYou on Facebook.
